Today is the birthday of actor Premji Amaren.

Born as the younger son of Gangai Amaren, Premji should have got the inspiration to be multi-talented from his father and his penchant for music is in his bloodline as he hails from a family of great music directors.

Premji has made a mark as an actor. playback singer and music director. He is a regular cast member in his elder brother and director Venkat Prabhu's film. He was also part of the director's latest blockbuster 'Chennai 600028 II' and his performance in the film was highly appreciated by critics.

The young actor has played memorable comedy or supporting roles in other directors films such as 'Santhosh Subramanyam', 'Settai' and 'Vada Curry'.

He has composed music for 'Thozha', 'Adhey Neram Adhey Idam' 'Ennamo Nadakkudhu' and the recent one is 'Achamindri' which was critically acclaimed. in 'Achamindri' his re-recording was one of the biggest pluses. He had actually started the journey as a background music scorer with 'Chennai 600028' in which was his brother's debut as a director.

Premji is also credited for the Remix versions of many of the super hit songs composed by his cousin Yuvan Shankar Raja in the films and the list includes 'Loosu Penne' ( Vallavan), 'Kannai Vittu Kannimaigal' (Pattiyal), 'Jalsa' (Chennai 600028) and 'Goa' Clubmix (Goa) among others.
