Thala Ajith fans have been clamoring for an update on 'Valimai' for many months, and a few of them had even asked for it during Prime Minister Modi's visit to Chennai,former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami's campaign trail, and even during the India versus England match in Chennai earlier this year

And it has now become common for fans to come up with original ideas in order to spark the attention of the film's producers in order to obtain an update on the film's release date..Thala fans have now arrived in Southampton, England. where a hardcore Thala Ajith/cricket fan waved a banner that stated "Valimai update" during the ICC World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand. The photo was extensively circulated on social media and became a big trend.

'Valimai.' directed by H Vinoth is his second film with Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP banner, following the courtroom drama 'Nerkonda Paarvai' in 2019 which also had Thala Ajith in the lead. Yuvan Shankar Raja scores the music and Nirav Shah is handling the camera.

'Valimai' has Thala Ajith and Huma Qureshi in the lead roles while Yogi Babu and Karthikeya play the comedian and the villain respectively. Filming is set to resume by the midweek of July and a grand Diwali release is planned.
