Thala Ajith's 'Valimai' shooting is progressing briskly in Chennai on sets built at the Gokulam Studios. The team is planning for a long high octane chase and action sequence in Switzerland later. The hot update is that young actor Raj Ayyappa has joined the cast in an important role.

Raj Ayyappa played a negative character in '100' opposite Atharvaa Murali and impressed critics and audiences alike. He is the son of veteran actor Banu Prakash who played a powerful role in Ajith's debut movie 'Amaravathi' and has been friends with him ever since. Prakash had stated in an interview that many years back when the family met Thala it was he who predicted that Raj Ayyappa would take up acting as a profession and it has come true now.

'Valimai' directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor has Ajith and Huma Qureshi in the lead roles while the heroine and other cast details are kept under wraps.
