The trailer of Powerstar Pawan Kalyan's comeback film Vakeel Saab was released in over 90 theatres across the Telugu states yesterday. The trailer is stuffed with all the commercial trappings required for a Pawan Kalyan-starrer. However, a section of fans were unhappy for not showing a glimpse of Pawan Kalyan's heroine Shruti Haasan in the trailer.
The trailer, which has clocked over six million views since last night, has Pawan Kalyan, Prakash Raj and the three female characters in it but not Shruti, who plays a crucial cameo in this remake. While her song - Kanti Papa Kanti Papa was a hit among Pawan Kalyan fans, missing her in the trailer seems to have triggered an intense debate on social media.
Insiders are wondering if Shruti's character has no trace in the trailer, then what significance does she has in the film. It is worth mentioning that the makers have faced similar backlash when the three women of the film, played by Nivetha Pethuraj, Anjali and Ananya Nagalla, were missing in the first look poster of the film.
Despite being a female-oriented story, looks like the makers are trying to project Vakeel Saab as a hero-centric film and are highlight Pawan Kalyan in all aspects.
It may be recalled that Pink didn't have a female lead opposite Amitabh Bachchan, while its remakes: Vakeel Saab and Nerkondai Paarvai have a heroine for both Pawan Kalyan and Ajith Kumar. Directed by Sriram Venu, Vakeel Saab is produced by Dil Raju and Boney Kapoor. The film is releasing on April 9.
