The forest fire breakout in Theni’s Korangani region has moved the state’s people to grief and worry. Many political leaders and important people from the film fraternity have been expressing their condolences. The grave incident which had consumed 9 lives has moved noted lyricist and bard to pay homage in his poetic melancholy.

Stating his shock and disappointment at the incident, he also expressed hope that those that have been rescued with injuries should get well soon. He also expressed his empathy from a parent’s perspective. He also brought in a verse by poet Kannadaasan to express his anguish over death and the ‘fire’. Apart from all this, Vairamuthu did not fail to remember a much more serious question: to investigate what part does humans/nature hold in this accident.
