Vaiko arrested in sedition case

Tamil Nadu's senior politician and MDMK founder Vaiko has been arrested and lodged in the Puzhal Prison under Judicial custody for 15 days .
The Q branch Police filed a sedition case against Vaiko for his speech supporting the banned Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam organisation in a public meeting held in the year 2009. He had allegedly said that India will not remain united if the war against LTTE was not stopped.
The case was taken up for hearing in the city Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Egmore, today. Vaiko who was present at the Court hall informed the Judge that he does not wish to get bail and hence the Judge ordered the police to keep the firebrand politician under Judicial custody for 15 days.
