Unhappy over not having male child, woman kills daughters; commits suicide

A woman from the Mahisagar district of Gujarat's Vadodara pushed her three daughters into a well and later jumped in the well as well and committed suicide as she was allegedly upset over not having a male child.
The woman, identified as Mangu Damor (27), went missing early Thursday morning along with her three daughters, Sharmishtha (5), Sura (3), and Bhuri (1). The bodies of the three girls were later found floating in the water by their father, Raman Damor. Raman and Mangu have been married for five years and the latter was allegedly distressed since Wednesday evening and even refused to cook food even as her eldest daughter was crying from hunger.
Raman has reportedly told the investigating officials that Mangu had been upset over not having a male child. The bodies of the four deceased were later fished out and sent for post-mortem.
