The scene in 'Maayi' (2000) where Vadivelu goes hunting for a potential bride is one of the comedy superstar's most famous ones. When the bride's father asks her to greet the groom and his companion (Sarathkumar), the girl named Minnal will appear and vanish as quickly as lightning, causing Vadivelu to pass out.
The scene still evokes laughter not only due to Vadivelu's absolute genius but also thanks to the actress Deepa who played Minnal in quirky manner. The actress then switched to television and has appeared in many serials.
Deepa in her most recent interview has revealed that she is making her re-entry in Tamil cinema after twenty years in a meaty role in the upcoming family drama 'Raja Vamsam'. The film directed by Kathir has Sasikumar and Nikki Galrani in the lead roles supported by Yogi Babu, Sumithra, Vijayakumar, Radha Ravi, Nirosha, Manobala and Singam Puli.
Deepa is confident that her role in 'Raja Vamsam' will be much appreciated by the family audiences and gain her more fans and roles in Kollywood. The film hits the screens on November 26th.
