The battle between Vadivelu and Singamuthu is continuing in the political ground too. Even as the former campaigning for the DMK-led alliance for the April 13 Assembly elections, the latter called on AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa and offered his support to her party.

During the meeting took place between Singamuthu and the former Chief Minister in Chennai on Thursday, the comedian assured Jayalalithaa that he would meet the people to seek votes for the candidates of AIADMK and its alliance partners.

The decision to rope in Singamuthu by the AIADMK is seen as a smart move to counter Vadivelu, whose speech against the opposition alliance, especially the DMDK, is creating an impact among voters.

Vadivelu and Singamuthu, who were once close friends and colleagues, parted ways after difference of opinion in property dealings. Following this, they leveled allegations against each other.
