Thalapathy VIjay's 'Mersal' is getting ready to hit the screens for the Diwali festival in October 2017. The shooting of this film directed by Atlee is getting closer to completion.

We all know that Vijay has three different roles in the film a village chieftain, a magician and a doctor. Vaigaipuyal Vadivelu is part of the stellar star cast of this film and he will be sharing screen space with Vijay after a gap of six years. Vijay and Vadivelu have rocked the screens with their comic timing and they have shared a great on screen chemistry in the films such as 'Bhagavathi', 'Vaseegara', 'Pokkiri' and 'Kavalan' and the same is expected in 'Mersal' too.

Now we learn an interesting detail about the Comedy King's character in the film. Sources reveal that Vadivelu plays the foster parent (வளர்ப்புத் தந்தை) of Vijay in the film.

We will have to wait till the release of the film to know whether this information is true or not. But if this is true, we can see a different dimension of Vijay and Vadivelu combo. It must be noted that Vadivelu has never acted in the role akin to a father in any film so far. It will be great to see him donning such a role in a film with Vijay. We can also expect some emotional exchanges between this highly talented and experienced duo apart from comedy in this film.
