Vadivelu one of the most celebrated comedians ever in the history of Tamil cinema ruled during the nineties and two thousands. He also won big as a hero with 'Imsai Arasan 23 aam Pulikesi' but after that, the films that he went solo weren't well received at the box office. Since he was adamant that he would only play the hero chances started to dry and for the past ten years by his own admission recently he has more or less been at home in his village.

During the 2011 general elections Vadivelu campaigned for the DMK and in his speeches, he trolled actor turned politician Captain Vijayakanth and mostly used disrespectful and derogatory words about him. Even hardcore fans took offense and when the Kalaigniar led party lost the elections it further hampered Vadivelu's career since Vijayakanth was then in the Jayalalitha-led ADMK coalition.

It is said that Vadivelu recently met Vijayakanth at his house and tearfully apologized to him for his actions and according to the reports the legendary actor who is now not in good health accepted it. It may be recalled that during Vadivelu's initial years as an actor Vijayakanth asked his directors to cast him and one of his best roles was in 'Chinna Gownder' as a sidekick.

Meanwhile as we reported earlier Vadivelu is likely to act in two big films in the near future including 'Suriya 40' and another project directed by Thirumurugan also starring R.J. Balaji.
