Udhayanidhi Stalin's last film as hero 'Maamannan' before embarking on a full fledged political journey released last month to high critical acclaim. The film has attained blockbuster status at the box office collecting in excess of rupees forty crores and still going strong.
Apart from this, the film is going to be dubbed and released in Telugu as well, after the success of the film in Tamil. Recently, its trailer was released by Telugu actor Mahesh Babu and director Rajamouli. The film is slated to hit the screens in Telugu on July 14, and is likely to set a record in the collection there as well.
'Maamannan' is directed by Mari Selvaraj and stars legendary comedian Vadivelu in his first out and out serious role with Keerthy Suresh, Fahadh Faasil Basil along with Udayanidhi. The film is produced by Red Giant Movies with music by A.R. Rahman.
Meanwhile the news has come that Vadivelu and Mari Selvaraj will be reuniting soon for a new movie. It is said that Vadivelu is keen to remake the Oscar winning 1997 film 'Life Is Beautiful' directed by and starring Roberto Benigni with his real life wife Nicoletta Braschi. He has shared his wish to Mari who has agreed to start the groundwork and Red Giant is reportedly in the frame as well. Let's wait and watch how this project shapes up.
