The movie has taken a while to make. But the news from the unit that it has shaped well. It is an interesting suspense cum family drama.
Directed by Shajoon Karyal,Vadakkumnathan is about the life of a Sanskrit professor. The professor's life is going on smoothly. He is also in love with his student cum relative.
But just days before the marriage, the professor vanishes. To where, nobody knows. The rest is about unlocking the knot of intrigue.
Mohanlal plays the professor Bharat Pishardy while Padmapiya plays his lady love Mira.
The other cast is heavy with Kavya Madhavan, Biju Menon, Balachandra Menon, Kalabhavan Mani and Murali.
The film has been shot extensively in Haridwar, Rishikesh and Puri (the locations can give you an idea of the flavor). The second schedule is in Kanhangad.
Camera is by S Kumar. The music was originally handled by Ravindran. Since Karyal is directing Mohanlal for the first time, he is taking extra care to get the finish right.
He says the film will be a gritty entertainer.
