In 'Vaarasudu', Thalapathy Vijay plays a free-spirited character for whom the family business throne is being warmed by his father (Sarathkumar) and mother (Jayasudha). The mother has resigned herself to watching the joint family's edifice fall apart in front of her eyes, as the villain (Prakash Raj) undermines their unity by executing a metaphorical game of chess. On cue, director Vamshi Paidipally deploys the symbolism of a chessboard in one of the scenes.
Set to hit the screens on January 11, this Sankranthi release is about how three brothers (played by Vijay, Srikanth and 'Kick' Shaam) fall in and out of love with each other. Rashmika Mandanna plays the hero's love interest.
"Whatever you give me, I will return it to you with three times the effect," says Vijay to Prakash Raj, who calls himself a hunter. The tone is set for a family action entertainer.
Also starring Prabhu, Khushbu, Yogi Babu, Sangeetha Krish, Samyuktha Shanmughanathan, Nandini Rai, Ganesh Venkatraman, Sriman and others, the film has its story and screen written by three writers (Vamshi, Hari, Ashishor Solomon). The Telugu version's dialogues have been penned by Srinivas Chakravarthy.
With editing by Praveen KL and the production design by the Sunil Babu-Vaishnavi Reddy duo, the film has action choreography by the Ram-Laxman duo, Peter Hein and Dhilip Subbarayan. Music is by Thaman.
