Actress Vaani Kapoor, who played a key role in the 2019 blockbuster War, has candidly addressed her absence from the much-awaited sequel War 2. While fans were eager to see her reunite with Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, Vaani made it clear that she harbors no resentment over not being part of the upcoming film.
Speaking during a promotional interview for her upcoming web series Mandala Murders, Vaani expressed her gratitude for having been part of the original. “I feel incredibly grateful to have been part of the first film. I wish them the best,” she said, praising the sequel for its scale, style, and cinematic appeal.
In a lighthearted moment, Vaani joked about her and Tiger’s characters meeting tragic ends in War. “Me, Sid (director Sidharth Anand), and Tiger are all not there in the sequel. Tiger and I both passed away in War. So I said, if Tiger comes back, I’m coming back too, my friend!” she quipped, winning hearts for her humor and grace.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, War grossed over ?475 crore worldwide upon its release in 2019, cementing its place as one of Bollywood’s biggest action hits.
Now, Ayan Mukerji takes the director’s chair for War 2, which will see Hrithik Roshan reprise his role as Agent Kabir, joined by Jr. NTR as the new antagonist, Agent Vikram, and Kiara Advani in a key role. The film, part of YRF’s expanding spy universe, is set for a grand theatrical release on August 14.
