The one movie that has drummed up expectations to sky high level is 'Vaadivaasal' announced officially a few years back. The magnum opus brings together Suriya and Vetrimaaran for the first time and is based on the novel of the same name by C.S. Chellappa.

So far a test shoot has happened featuring Suriya and hundreds of bulls. The principal photography is expected to commence later this year. Meanwhile there is a red hot update that Kalaipuli S Thanu the producer of the project has started the prerelease business. It is said that a leading audio company has bagged the music rights for the highest ever price for a Tamil film. The Suriya-Vetrimaaran-G.V. Prakash combo has made this possible and has also indicated that the project will be greenlit sooner rather than later.

Suriya is currently shooting for 'Suriya 42' a two part fantasy adventure film directed by Siruthai Siva in which Disha Patani is playing the female lead. Vetrimaaran on the other hand is busy with the postproduction work of his 'Viduthalai' which is also incidentally a two part project as well. The film has Soori playing the hero for the first time in his career while Vijay Sethupathi will appear as the powerful Vaathiyaar.
