VJ Jacquline, who became famous through her anchoring in the Vijay TV show 'Kalakka Povathu Yaaru' and subsequently through her role as Nayanthara's sister in Kolamavu Kokila, has signed up for a new Vijay TV serial.

The show, which is a remake of the Hindi Television show Nimki Mukhiya, follows the life of a carefree, materialistic, and narcissistic girl named Nimki who accidentally becomes the Mukhiya (chief) of the village. Jacquline will be playing the lead role in the show. She admits that though she was initially hesitant to portray the role, she fell in love with the character and costumes once she saw the promos and a few episodes.

On being asked how she felt playing the role of a married woman so soon in her career, Jacquline says, "35-year-old women play the role of a school girl these days. I'm 23. Why shouldn't I play the role of a married woman? If my character requires it, I would even portray the role of a beggar."
