UTV films in several global film festival circuits

If one takes notice most of the UTVs films enjoy traveling around the global, visiting different international film festivals.
UTV has been the only Indian studio to have its films screened as Official Selections at many prestigious international film festivals in 2009-2010 with Dev D and Delhi 6 screening at the Venice Film Festival, followed by Whats Your Raashee? at the Toronto Film festival, Aamir Khan Productions Peepli Live at Sundance and Berlin Film Festival, Udaan which is competing in the Un Certain Regard, Official Selection section of the Cannes Film Festival.
With Harishchandrachi Factory which was Indias official entry for the 82nd Academy Awards and since then has been showcased across the globe at various film festivals. Yet another cult film from UTV, Dev D that mesmerized not just domestic but also International audiences at prestigious film festivals like the Venice Film Festival. Both these films will now be screened at prominent film festivals in South Asian and European countries.
Anurag Kashyaps Dev D starring Abhay Deol, Kalki Koechlin and Mahie Gill has been selected at Puchon Film Festival at Korea and will also be screened at CPX Festival Denmark. Earlier screened at the Osaka Asian Film Festival, Dev D has been a favourite on the film festival circuit with screenings at the Venice International Film Festival, Hong Kong International Film Festival, Belgrade International Film Festival, Tiburon International Film Festival (in March), Palm Springs International Film Festival, and Thessaloniki International Film Festival in Greece.
The Phuket Film Festival starting June 4, 2010 will open with screening of Harishchandrachi Factory. It was recently screened at the Krakow Film Festival in Poland. Having traveled to the Cinema Mundi International Film Festival in Czechoslovakia, Los Angeles for the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles, Floating Film Festival in the US, Asian International Film Festival at New York and to the Indian Panorama section at the International Film Festival of India in Goa; Harishchandrachi Factory is now looking at entertaining the Polish and Thailand film buffs.
Commenting on the overwhelming responses across the globe Harishchandrachi Factorys writer director Paresh Mokashi says, I am really happy that we are making this effort to take Phalkes adventure to international audiences. For the first time, film buffs in Poland, Thailand and other countries will have an opportunity to see the story of how the biggest film industry began.
