Uttej's wife Padma has succumbed to cancer while undergoing treatment at the famous Basavatarakam Hospital in Hyderabad. The 46-year-old actor-writer is in a state of shock.

It's learned that Chiranjeevi reached the hospital in no time after he came to know about the tragic news. In the presence of Chiru, Uttej couldn't fight back his tears and wept inconsolably. His daughter Chetana, too, was inconsolable. Prakash Raj, who is running for MAA President's post, was also present. Jeevitha Rajasekhar, too, reached the hospital to lend her moral support to the bereaved family.

Uttej's wife was also by his side, taking care of the activities at his acting school. In Padma, the actor-writer had a pillar of strength.

On the work front, Uttej awaits the release of 'Love Story'. In recent years, he has done movies such as 'Falaknuma Das', 'Taxiwala' and 'Pressure Cooker'.
