Man misses wife during coronavirus lockdown, commits suicide

A man in Uttar Pradesh committed suicide as he had been missing his wife who is stuck at her parents' home amid the nationwide coronavirus lockdown.

The man, identified as Rakesh Soni (32), was residing in the Radha Kund locality and hung himself off the ceiling of his room on Wednesday. His wife had gone to stay at her parents' place and had been stuck there due to the lockdown. Based on preliminary investigation, police have reportedly mentioned that Rakesh committed suicide as he was missing his wife. Further investigation of the matter is currently underway.

A total of 834 cases have been registered in Tamil Nadu so far, while 6588 cases have been confirmed across India. Tamil Nadu has reported 8 deaths while 199 people have succumbed to the illness across the country.
