A 30-year-old woman has allegedly been beaten and divorced by triple talaq following a heated argument with her husband, who denied to give her Rs. 30 for the purchase of vegetables.
The accused, identified as 35-year-old Sabir from Uttar Pradesh, has been booked after the wife filed a case of physical harassment against him. The woman also stated in her FIR that the entire family, and not just her husband, abused her constantly. She accused her brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and mother-in-law of thrashing and even electrocuting her with a wire. The woman and her three children have been shifted to her mother's house and she has been receiving treatment from a hospital.
The accused has been arrested and booked under IPC sections 504 (intentional insult), 498-A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
