Superstar Rajinikanth had a suggestion to share with his colleagues at the national conference of the All India Film Employees’ Federation in Chennai on Friday.

In his address, he urged film workers to utilise properly the schemes announced by the government. “The film employees did not take the offer of land made by the previous regime of the AIADMK,” he said.

“Former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa had announced a similar scheme, but the industry failed to make use of it. Our friends should act upon the offer this time,” the top actor said, referring to an announcement made by TamilNadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi that the government would provide free houses to film workers.

Referring to Rajini’s observation, M Karunanidhi said he did not want to go into the issue but now, it was for the FEFSI president V C Guhanathan and the employees to select the site. “Once FEFSI members identify the site, the project will begin,” he said.
