Pop singer Usha Uthup has completed shooting for her maiden Malayalam venture Pothen Vava, which is slated for a release this Ramzan.

Happy at acting with Mammootty, she says, 'I was hesitant when producer Lal came to me with the idea. But I never dreamt that it would be such a wonderful role. I sang a song 35 years ago in the Bachchan starrer, `Bombay to Goa.' But this role, of `Vakkeelamma' and the bonding between son and mother, together with the very relevant questions about religious integration, was exactly my cup of tea.'
