In his recent speech at the White House, US President Joe Biden made some bold claims about accomplishments under his administration, saying they effectively "ended cancer as we know it." The president also spoke of how he plans to expand access to mental health care as part of what is referred to as his ‘unity agenda,’ addressing the US mental health crisis.

Mr. Biden kicked off his speech by highlighting the need for more help in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and sharing a personal wish that if he can achieve anything, it is to cure cancer. While some conservatives on social media have lashed out at the president's remarks, claiming that he lied about curing cancer, others have shown confusion and doubt over such a statement.

This is not the first time that President Biden has offended people by making verbal gaffes. In recent weeks, he made news when he called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy "Vladimir" during a NATO summit in Lithuania, but then quickly corrected himself in the next sentence.

Several discussions and debates followed the president's speech online, with users sharing their opinions on social media platforms. While some see the claim about ending cancer as an exaggeration, it remains a subject of interest and controversy in the public sphere.
