US President Donald Trump calls Narendra Modi

Donald Trump on Monday called Prime Minister Narendra Modi and congratulated him on winning the recent elections in Uttar Pradesh.

The Modi led BJP won the UP elections with a thumping majority this March, while also forming governments in Goa, Manipur and Uttarakhand.

This is the third time that the two leaders exchange phone conversations since November last year. The complete readout of the conversation will be released soon, said Sean Spicer, White House Press Secretary.
