US market shatters Vijay Deverakonda's stamina

The US market has once again started punishing mediocre movies in a drastic way. It has been unforgiving to the hilt.
The latest victim is 'World Famous Lover', which should have ideally got very good openings in the US given that its hero is Vijay Deverakonda. After 'Arjun Reddy' and 'Geetha Govindam', the Overseas audience seemed to give a unique star status to the young actor.
However, 'WFL' had to do with a mere USD 230,000 (Gross) in its first weekend in the US. This is abysmally low for a movie whose trailer was okayish. With the US back to its 2019 ways, the lull that the Sankranthi releases provided last month has proved to be a mere aberration.
In the domestic market, too, the film has turned out to be a disaster. Reports say that it won't earn more than Rs 12 Cr (Share) in its run. It will incur losses to the tune of Rs 17 Cr (worldwide).
