A social media user named Suresh Kochattil has asked the cops in Hyderabad whether they are alert to the Jihadi threat in the wake of the US-Iran tensions. The answer is, yes.
"Many wannabe Jihadis work for American software companies in Hyderabad. After Iran threatened to hit US assets, has the Hyderabad Police, the Cyberabad Police and the Rachakonda cops done background check/risk assessment of these wannabes?" he asked. (A derogatory usage in the tweet has been replaced with the word wannabes, as we don't encourage sweeping labels).
Replying to him, the responsive Cyberabad police said, "Yes sir... We have specialized wings for collection of advance intel and our teams are on the job 24X7. Thanks for alerting us. Please keep us updated if you find anything suspicious."
A happy Kochattil thanked the cops for the quick response. "The hint of terror attacks on American assets across the world is real. But I doubt police in twin cities have run a background check of people who can carry out such an attack," he added.
