US Embassy India on Wednesday clarified that non-US citizen parents of minor US citizen children, including parents holding valid H-1B and H-4 visas, are not subject to travel suspension. The Embass iterated that they may enter the US without receiving an exception.

Earlier, it was also clarified that student visa holders are able to enter America if their classes start on or after August 1 this year. "We are unfortunately unable to approve exceptions for F visa holders with a program start date before August 1, 2021," the Embassy added, expressing regret.

It held that the suspension of most non-immigrant travel to the US by individuals physically present in India does not apply to American citizens, lawful permanent residents, immigrant visa holders, or select other categories of travelers.
