Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Tamil Comments

Back after a sabbatical is Sherin with Urchagam.

Directed by Ravichandran with Nanda and Sherin in the lead roles, the movie deals in detail about the problems and difficulties between a love marriage and an arranged marriage.

Produced by the GV Films, the movie was shot in Chennai, ECR, Pondicherry, Goa, Jodhpur and foreign locales. A couple of songs were shot in Bangkok and its surroundings. Bollywood star Dinesh Lambha plays a baddie in the movie. Vivek also play a prominent role it the movie.

Sherin is ready for her second stint in Kodambakkam with Urchagam. The young actress, who started her career successfully with Thulluvatho Illamai, since then, Sherin had been part of several films which includes Student No 1, Whistle, Jaya, and Kadhal Thiruda among others.

A few flop shows meant Sherin taking a break from Tamil cinema. Now she is back to try her luck again.

She hopes that she would get busy after Urchagam. "I was very young when I made my debut in 'Thulluvatho Illamai. I did not know anything about films. I made commitments to the wrong films and spoilt my career. Now I know more about cinema and the people, so I will not repeat my mistakes".

Nanda, whose films including Kodambakkam and Agaram won him accolades, plays the male lead. He has reduced his weight and looks different in the movie.

He too sounds confident that Urchagam will bring laurels to him and set his career back on right track.

Remember Ranjit Barot. The music -composer who composed tunes for VIP a few years ago. He is back with half-a-dozen catchy tunes for Urchagam.

Director Ravichandran too is back after a brief exile. The director, who came up with hits in Kannethire Thondrinal and Majnu, is confident that Urchagam will certainly bring him more joy. Coffee Shop was the title first chosen for the movie but was later changed to Urchagam.
