With series of formula films of stars crashing in the box office new combinations are tried out in Kannada cinema off late.

The multi star cast of yesteryears actors has become a common phenomenon and now to make a big bang superstar Upendra and hat trick director Prem combination is worked out in the box office.

What is interesting is that both are director cum actors are not directing the first combination. They are just acting according to highly placed sources.

Upendra in the last one and half decades remained the unconquered king from various films as actor and director and director Prem first three films –Excuse Me, Kariya and Jogi made big news in the box office. He is now in the 100th film of hat trick hero Shivarajakumar ‘Jogaiah’ for his home banner. Prem was unsuccessful from his debut acting ‘Preethi Eke Bhoomi Melidhe’ that was a big loss to ‘Jogi’ producer Ashwini audio house.

After ‘Jogaiah’ release the new combination of Upendra and Prem – aspiring for difference in every film they take up are working together.

Upendra is sitting comfortable with the super success of ‘Super’ Kannada film.
