With Upendra taking a permanent leave from his own political party on Tuesday, the actor-politician has become a butt of ridicule for many. If not enough jokes are heard on social media, it's because not many take him seriously in the first place.

Upendra's political journey has been as whimsical as his crazy but entertaining films are, so goes a joke.

He had thrown first hints of resigning from his own party a few days ago. "The real results between prajaakeeya (people-centric fight) and Raajakeeya (politics) will reveal on 6th of this month. Wait and watch," he had tweeted out.

The Sandalwood superstar is now working towards refurbishing his image (he has been called lazy, and a practitioner of nepotism). He will float a new party. He won't be joining the BJP as many have suspected.
