Director Vasanthabalan is gearing up to wrap 'Kaaviya Thalaivan' as soon as possible, rushing through the shooting schedules. The third schedule of the film's shooting is underway in Kothamangalam. Late lyricist Vaalee was to have penned down the lyrics for all the songs in this period set movie; however he had written down two songs before his sad demise.

Now, the young lyricist Pa Vijay has been roped in to word the remaining songs, to the tunes of AR Rahman. Makers of the movie are happy about the songs having turned out well in Pa Vijay's vocabulary, although missing the irreplaceable loss of the late poet Vaalee. Starring Siddharth, Prithviraj, Vedhika and Anaika Soti in the lead, produced by Y Not Studios, 'Kaaviya Thalaivan' is based on the real life stories of actor-singer couple KB Sundarambal and Kittappa.
