Upasana Kamineni Konidela recently canceled her planned trip to Iceland after coming across a concerning post by Seaspiracy about whaling. The post highlighted the renewal of Iceland's whaling licenses, permitting the killing of over 2,000 whales, including endangered fin whales.

Moved by the environmental impact, Upasana took to Instagram to announce her decision. Upasana also shared Seaspiracy's call for action. The post also mentioned that 36 members of the European Parliament signed a letter urging Iceland to cancel the licenses and implement a permanent ban on commercial whaling. They stressed whales' critical role in combating climate change by sequestering CO2.

Upasana’s decision has garnered widespread praise from netizens. Most of them commended her commitment to environmental conservation. Upasana is known for her active stance on sustainability and ecological issues. She demonstrated her dedication through this meaningful gesture.
