In a shocking incident, a chartered plane crashed into a construction site in Mumbai's Ghatkopar, a suburb (nearJagruti building), on Thursday afternoon, before it reached its destination. As per latest reports, five people have been killed.
Fire brigade teams lost no time in rushing to the spot. A statement from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation says that two pilots, two Aircraft Maintenance Engineers and one person on the construction site are dead.
Contrary to several media reports, the plane is not owned by the Uttar Pradesh government, which had sold it off to Mumbai's UY Aviation in 2014 itself. However, the sale was done after the damned plane had met with an accident in Allahabad.
