Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, in a law and order review meeting at Pragati Bhavan, has reportedly spoken of a conspiracy to foment communal trouble ahead of the GHMC elections. He instructed the police to be on alert.
The high-level meeting convened by the Chief Minister reviewed the situation based on inputs received about the "anarchic forces" that are likely to create clashes. KCR reportedly added that the forces will be crushed with an iron hand. In this regard, the police have been given the freedom to crush the unruly forces.
The possibility of creating "ugly scenes" in the vicinity of religious places was also mentioned by the CM. Social media posts that are provocative are likely to be under the radar of the police.
The GHMC polls will be held on December 1.
