Unnam Preview

Young star Asif Ali seems to have emerged as one of the favourite actors of senior director Sibi Malayil. Though their earlier attempts like 'Apoorva Raagam' and 'Violin' did not exactly made the Box office happy, Sibi is repeating the actor a continuous third time for his new movie 'Unnam', which also will have few other big names in the cast including Sreenivasan, Shwetha Menon and Lal.

`Unnam' is planned as a mix up of basic genres of film, with the genesis of a crime proving to be the plot point.

A group of four people- Sunny Kalapurakkal (Lal), Murukan (Nedumudi Venu), Aloshy (Asif Ali), Basheer( Noushy) and Tomy Eappan (Prashanth Narayanan) play the  lead characters, who are planning to commit a crime to make fast money. Sunny has past connections with Mumbai's underworld and Murugan is his confidante who is associated with Sunny for the last thirty years. Aloshy is a street singer who is currently lending the lead voice to the band performing in the evening music club of the city. Tomy and Basheer are the sons of old friends of Sunny, who had been to the underworld business.

In between the planning to the realisation of the big crime, their relationship witnesses several changes. Into their plans arrives a corrupt police officer, C I Balakrishnan(Sreenivasan), who takes this as an opportunity to grab crores of money using the workable plans of the five-some.Though they succeed in making money, something dramatic happens in between, killing each one of the gang in a few days. Left with all confusions about what is happening around, Aloshi now sets forward to unravel the mystery behind the horrific happenings.

Shwetha Menon plays a character called Sareena, who is living with aged Murugan, after a failed marriage. Rima Kallingal plays a suspenseful character called Jennifer in the movie with a different makeover. Rima will be seen without her signature curly locks.Prashanth Narayanan, who had made a name in Bollywood with films like 'Murder2' will debut through the movie.  Also in the cast are K P A C Lalitha, Chithra Aiyer, Anjana

Planned as a family thriller, Swathy Bhaskar who debuted as a director through 'Currency' scripts 'Unnam'. The movie' will introduce a new music director John P Varkey, who had earlier created songs for many other language films. His three songs will be the highlight of the flick. Rafeeq Ahamed pens the lyrics Ajayan Vincent is the cinematographer of 'Unnam' which has almost completed its shoot. Bith Bala (editing), Prashanth Madhav (Art) Thyagarajan (Action), Ranjith Ambady (makeup) and Sameera Saneesh (Costumes) head various technical departments of Unnam.

`Unnam' is being produced by Kuniyil Noushy and Basheer under the banner of Kuniyil Productions. The movie will be presented to theatres by David Kachapally.
