Unknown facts about NTRs first crush, Andhra Mess & more

'NTR: A Biography' is the newest NT Rama Rao biography in the town. It has been jointly written by retired IAS officer K Lakshminarayana and retired IRS officer K Chandrahas.

While there have been a number of biographies, some of them most authentic, this book is one-of-its-kind, the authors say. The book is a comprehensive source of information about the life and achievements of the thespian-turned-politician. The authors come with decades of administrative experience. So, their vast experience, insights, research and analyses have been infused in the book. Even NTR's childhood, pre-marital life, marital life and his relationship with some important people in his life have been captured meticulously in the book.

Here are some of the unknown facts about NTR's life that the book has revealed for the first time:

Not many know that director C Pullaiah offered to NTR the lead man's role in 'Vindhya Rani'. However, NTR refused to do the movie only because he wanted to complete his graduation before stepping into movies. When Pullaiah came to him for the first time, NTR was struggling to secure Intermediate after flunking twice in it!

When he was in Intermediate, NTR had his first-ever crush. He crushed on the daughter of the person who was living as a tenant in his parents' rental house. The authors have learned that the elders admonished NTR for falling in love with the girl. Eventually, the girl remained a pleasant memory.

Before becoming an actor, NTR ran a mess named 'Andhra Mess' in Bombay for a short period.

Not many know that NTR worked as an Amin for 11 days in a civil court before joining another government department as a Sub-Registrar ('NTR: Kathanayakudu' beings from this point).

NTR partnered with a businessman to run a wholesale business, which was dealing in bidis, cigarettes, etc. This was a short-lived avocation.

At 636 pages, the biography is handy because expensive light-weight pages have been used by the publishers.
