Union Minister promises action after Chinmayi's request

Maam, it's been 4 months since I named Mr Vairamuthu as my predator. I have since then been banned from work in the Tamil film Industry (Dubbing Union). The law as of today doesn’t allow me to file a case. Please give me a solution, playback singer Chinmayi today said to Union Minister Maneka Gandhi on Twitter.  She tagged the Prime Minister's Office as well in the tweet. As is known, Varaimuthu is a legendary Tamil lyricist and poet whose name was outed by Chinmayi as part of the 'Me Too' movement last year.

Many of my colleagues who have named Vairamuthu are afraid of coming out in the open because speaking up has cost me my basic income in the past 4 months. Please tell me what I should do, what more I should do. Due process has failed me. Please help this Beti. And others, Chinmayi further urged the Union Minister.  'Beti' in the tweet is an allusion to 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' scheme of the NDA government.

Much to Chinmayi's relief, Maneka Gandhi has promised action.  Replying to Chinmayi, she said, I have taken up your case with the National Commission for Women.

Varaimuthu is said to be an influential film personality.
