Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has tested positive for coronavirus. The BJP leader is mildly symptomatic and has isolated himself.
"I was feeling weak and consulted my Doctor. During the course of my check-up, I have been tested COVID-19 positive. I am at present doing well with the blessings and good wishes of all. I have isolated myself. I request everyone who has come in my contact to be careful and follow the protocol. Stay safe," Gadkari tweeted out on Wednesday night.
Political leaders from across the country are wishing Gadkari well. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wrote, "Praying for your good health and speedy recovery @nitin_gadkari ji. Get well soon." Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan tweeted, "I’m sure you will recover very fast @nitin_gadkari ji! Praying for your speedy recovery & hoping to see you back in your Mantralaya very soon."
Wishing him well, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor wrote, "Wishing Gadkari ji a speedy and complete recovery. His energy and efficiency are all too rare in our present government. The country needs him back in the saddle, building our infrastructure."
DMK chief MK Stalin tweeted, "I wish Thiru @nitin_gadkari a speedy recovery from #COVID19 and safe return to good health."
