Actor Suriya will be seen next in the movie Soorarai Pottru directed by Sudha Kongara, and this movie which also stars Aparna Balamurali, Mohan Babu and Paresh Rawal is based on the life of Air Deccan founder GR Gopinath, and releases this summer.

It was already announced that Suriya's 40th movie will be directed by Vetrimaaran and that the movie will be the adaptation of the novel Vaadivaasal, and last week it was announced officially that Suriya's 39th movie is directed by Hari, and has been titled Aruvaa.

The latest speculation making the rounds is that Suriya's 41st movie might be directed by TJ Gnanavel, who had earlier directed Kootathil Oruvan starring Ashok Selvan and Priya Anand, released in 2017, and it has also been said that this movie about the lives of tribal people will begin shooting next week. An official clarification on this speculation is expected soon.
