A young mother of identical twins recently shared on Twitter that she had to take her babies to a police station to have them fingerprinted because she could not tell them apart. The mother identified as Sofi Rodriguez's post went viral, with other parents of twins chiming in with similar struggles. Although the police were initially unable to identify the babies, the National Person's Registry eventually called Sofi and provided a solution.
Her viral tweet read as follows: 'Tomorrow I have to go to the police to have my twins fingerprinted and tell me which one is which, I won the mother of the year award,' wrote Sofi. In another tweet Sofi wrote: 'In the photos they look different, but it is because they come from different angles or the light... sets them apart, in person they are the same.'
After the tweet went viral, several twins and parents flooded the comment section with similar experiences. A twin on Twitter shared a story about how he and his brother used to wear bracelets to differentiate themselves, but when the bracelets fell off, their parents were unsure who was who. Conz Preti, another mom of identical twins, revealed that she had wanted to pierce her babies' ears with different colored earrings, but was unable to do so in New York where they were born.
