A remake of Telugu run away hit film `Ullasanga Utsahanga' is good in parts in Kannada version `Ullasa Uthsaha'. That is primarily because of the image carried out very well by actor Ganesh. The most deserving was the better heroine like Sneha Ullal who figured in the original. Director Devaraj Palan has failed in most of the places to store the sensitivity of the original film. There is only lovely tune and cinematography by veteran GSV Seetharam is the high point of the film.
Preetham (Ganesh) a careless guy in the house suddenly becomes serious in his life when he sees Mahalakshmi (Yami Gauthami). He falls in love with her and makes various attempts to convince her and all of them go in vain. Mahalakshmi is from a rich family who runs away from the house on the marriage day is looking for her childhood friend Balaji. When the family of Mahalakshmi hunts her, the police intervention saves her from the clutches of her family. A plot is prepared to get Mahalakshmi back in the home for which she falls flat. The reason for this is emergence of fake Balaji. This duplicity is exposed in the right time and once again Preetham saves her from virtual trap.
The Preetham role immaculately suits golden star Ganesh. He is at ease throughout the role. The grip and hold the original film has, goes missing in this remake film. Yami Gauthami looks like elder sister to the protagonist Ganesh. Other actors like Rangayana Raghu as the screaming father; Preethi Chandrasekhar as lovelable sister; and Thulasi Shivamani as careful mother of the hero, have done a decent performance.
Chalisuva Hudugi..Kanasu Nijavadhanthe Kanasu...is well sung and penned. GV Prakash Kumar has given another song Namasthe..that is for the fans of Ganesh. GSV Seetharam the veteran behind the camera has given the right lighting, color and pleasant feel to the eyes.
Scoring 6/10
