The opposition of Tamil Nadu leaders of the BJP for Thalapathy Vijay's grand Diwali release 'Mersal' has now become a raging national debate over the Freedom of expression.
The BJP leaders have started accusing the film and personally against Vijay for spreading falsehood and hatred against the Union Government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the dialogues criticising over GST and Digital money in the film. Apparently the film's Producer Murali Ramasamy of Thenandal Studios has accepted to remove the controversial dialogues.
This has made all the opposition parties to rally behind the film and Vijay as they felt it is necessary to uphold the freedom of expression and dissent against Government in a democracy.
Kollywood celebrities are also supporting the film and its lead actor Vijay. Now actor Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan has tweeted against the demand of BJP leaders for removing the dialogues against GST and Digital money.
Mersal was certified. Dont re-censor it . Counter criticism with logical response. Dont silence critics. India will shine when it speaks.
