The long time dream of Tamils to have a seperate chair at the prestigious Harvard University to facilitate studies on the most ancient language on the planet.  The Tamil Nadu government and celebrities like A.R. Rahman, Surya, G.V. Prakash,Karunas and Vishal among others have contributed to the cause.

Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan has donated Rs. 20,00,000 (Rupees twenty lakhs) for the movement received by popular Tamil speaker and actor Gnanasambandam and others.
