Can Kamal Haasan give a boost to Indian cinema?

  • IndiaGlitz, [Saturday,January 16 2016]

It has now been confirmed that Kamal Haasan along with directors Shaji N Karun and Gautham Ghosh will be on the supervisory panel of the Censor Board headed by Shyam Benegal who will watch the functioning of the board and suggest improvements and changes.

There has always been the strong view about censorship in India, being that the board stifles the creativity of filmmakers. The I & B Ministry has decided to add more members from the industry aiming for a total revamp. Kamal, who himself has been at loggerheads with the censor board will surely be a strong voice in favor of the filmmakers' rights to freedom of expression.
