British journalist Paul McLean was killed by a crocodile while vacationing in Sri Lanka when he supposedly washing his hands in a lagoon.

Search is on to find the body of the 24-year-old tourist who was working with the Financial Times after graduating from Oxford University in 2015. According to other tourists present at the Elephant Rock near Arugam Bay, the location of the tragic incident, McLean left his friends to go to a toilet near the lagoon where he was ambushed by a crocodile. Witnesses say he was frantically waving his hands in the air before disappearing out of sight. Some think that it might have been quicksand.
