At the trailer launch event of 'Ugram', Allari Naresh revealed that he wondered if the audience would watch those many action sequences in the film. Director Vijay Kanakamedala asked him to believe in his vision.
The film, based on a 'missing persons racket', sees Naresh as a cop named Shiva Kumar. He is a dude in distress after losing his wife and child to a human trafficking cartel.
If the first film of the Naresh-Vijay duo was about undertrial prisoners, 'Ugram' makes a case for unearthing trafficking scandals. During the lockdown in 2020, more than 1,50,000 persons went missing across India. Inspector Shiva Kumar lungs for them and smashes the villains in this May 5th release.
Two songs, titled 'Albela Albela' and 'Deveri', have been released thus far. Shine Screens is producing the film. Toom Venkat and Abburi Ravi have come together to pen the story and dialogues, respectively. Brahma Kadali is its production designer. Sricharan Pakala has composed the music.
