While the film's release date is fast approaching, 'Udta Punjab' has bang on got into trouble with Censor Board. The Abhishek Chaubey's directorial earlier was stopped by Censor Board from screening citing that the film contains abusive dialogues and it shows Punjab in poor light.
The officials at the Board were greatly disappointed with the film's content, which portrayed youth highly influenced by drugs in Punjab. The makers of 'Udta Punjab' were instructed to remove several objectionable scenes which highlighted this fact, even though in real Punjab faces drug issue. Incidentally the film makers have to make nearly 90 cuts if they have to release the film, sources revealed.
The Censor Board even want the makers to drop the word Punjab from the film's title. As of now the makers - director Abhishek Chaubey and producers Balaji and Phantom - are in a fix; as the film is slated to release on June 17th.
