Udhayanidhi Stalin drops new movie after becoming Minister

Actor, producer and Chennai Chepauk MLA Udhayanidhi Stalin was sworn in as the Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Department. The Governor of Tamil Nadu presided over the swearing in ceremony held at the Darbar Hall at Raj Bhavan in the presence of the Chief Minister, cabinet ministers and other dignatories from the DMK coalition government.

Udhayanidhi Stalin's first signature after taking charge was to sign the file to increase the retirement pay of sportspersons from 3000 to 6000 rupees. He made the official announcement that 'Mamannan' directed by Mari Selvaraj will be his last film as he will have more responsibilities now.

The 45 year old also announced that the proposed film that he had committed to act under Kamal Haasan's production tentatively titled 'RKFI 54' has been dropped. It is unclear whether Kamal will continue the project with a different actor as of now.

Superstar Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and Vishal were among the many film industry celebrities who wished Udhay on his big day on social media platforms.
