Though hailing from a family of politicians, actor-producer Udhayanidhi Stalin was strictly staying away from politics until recently when he took part in the fasting protest conducted by the DMK party under his father M.K.Stalin's leadership against the trust vote conducted in Tamil Nadu Assembly to prove the majority of Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy.
While this incident raised many eyebrows among political observers and also lead to criticisms in certain sections of media, the 'Gethu' actor followed it up with another daring political comment when he addressed the gathering at the event organised at Valluvar Kottam in Chennai to celebrate his father's 65th birthday.,
"You all know the present situation of the 122 ADMK MLAs. They cannot enter their own constituency without the police and security guards. But here two MLAs (DMK) are sitting without any fear."
In the past, Udhay has been highly critical of the AIADMK claiming that he was being politically targeted when none of his films acquired the 30% Entertainment Tax Exemption offered by the Tamil Nadu Government. He has also initiated legal wars against the government regarding the same issue.
